Best flooring for a campervan — vinyl plank vs sheet vinyl?
Trying to decide between vinyl plank flooring (click-lock type) and sheet vinyl for my Crafter build. The plank stuff looks better and is easier to replace individual pieces, but I've heard it can expand and contract with temperature changes. Sheet vinyl seems more practical but harder to get a nice finish. What have people used and how has it held up over time? I'm also wondering about what to put underneath — do I need underlay or just stick it straight on the ply?

I went with vinyl plank (LVT) in my Crafter and after 2 years it still looks great. The expansion/contraction thing is real but manageable — just leave a 5mm gap around the edges (which you'll cover with trim anyway). I put it straight onto 9mm ply with no underlay, and it's been fine. The click-lock system means if one plank gets damaged, you can replace just that one. I'd recommend spending a bit more on a thicker plank (4mm+) as the cheap thin ones can feel flimsy.
